The fully-remote outfit was established by Sitara Shefta and Will Dudley, who said the UK studio is eager to build a "small but mighty team" after working on prototypes that have attracted the interest of investors and publishers.

Shefta, who most recently served as CEO and studio director at No Brakes Games in Tenerife and previously worked on titles such as LittleBigPlanet 3, Dead Island 2, and Disney Infinity will serve as CEO of Pretty Cool.
Dudley has been named as chief creative officer. He has experience working on both triple-A and indie titles including Human: Fall Flat, Tom Grennan VR, Transformers, and Fable the Journey.
Pretty Cool has already secured financing from Coreblazer, the investment arm of Singapore-based video game studio, Hypergryph. The move represents the company's first UK investment.
"From the earliest prototypes, we could already feel the creativity and potential of this team,” said Clare Yang, head of investment at Hypergryph "Sitara and Will are true entrepreneurs, and working with them has been a genuine pleasure—we're excited to support Pretty Cool Games as they bring their vision to life."
Pretty Cool's debut project is described as a double-A, physics-based experience "focused on player expression." Shefta said the studio will approach production with a "gameplay-first" mentality.
"We have an idea, prototype it quickly, and see how it feels in the player's hands and iterate from there," she added. "We think players respond when they can see and feel the creativity that's gone into a game, and they in turn feel free to be more creative in how they play a game."
