The world might have gone horribly wrong, but at least someone is finally getting around to tidying it up – at least in the video gaming world. Cozy Radiation Cleaner swaps apocalyptic firefights for a radiation detector and a spot of peaceful exploration, sending players into an abandoned wasteland to track down radioactive relics from a forgotten civilisation.

Developed and published by SilverSet Studios, this laid-back clean-up adventure is out now on Xbox Series X|S for £6.29.

180 Strange Finds Across A Forgotten World

Armed with a radiation detector, you’ll follow its crackling signals to locate 180 radioactive objects scattered across 18 regions. The environments range from misty pine groves and wide salt flats to the unsettling Silent Reactor, with every discovery added to a growing collection of curiosities left behind by the old world.

There’s no rush to complete the catalogue, either. Cozy Radiation Cleaner deliberately avoids timers and pressure, allowing you to explore at your own pace and enjoy the satisfaction of gradually cleaning up the landscape. Think PowerWash Simulator meets Fallout…

Take The Scenic Route

Sometimes the best way to explore a wasteland is with the radio on and nowhere particular to be. You can wander on foot or hop into your trusty SUV, cruising between discoveries to a soundtrack of cosy lo-fi tunes.

The world also changes around you, with day turning into night and rainstorms rolling across the landscape. Weather can get more dramatic, too, with tornadoes appearing on the horizon and giving you another reason to keep an eye on your surroundings.

It’s a gentler take on post-apocalyptic exploration, focused on collecting, discovering and watching a forgotten place slowly become cleaner. Cozy Radiation Cleaner is available now on Xbox Series X|S for £6.29 from the Xbox Store, offering a chance to trade the usual wasteland survival scramble for a detector, a scenic drive and a little radioactive spring cleaning.

We’ll get sweeping and provide a review for you soon.
