Runic Forge, the publisher behind the cozy citybuilder Hearth and Hamlet, has officially rebranded as Pythia Games. The new publishing label is part of UK-based indie marketing agency RUNE, which is shifting its focus entirely toward game publishing.
Following Hearth and Hamlet, Pythia Games is expanding its publishing lineup with several upcoming indie titles, including the roguelike deckbuilder Carnholt and the idle dungeon-crawling RPG Dragon’s Tear.
Maxime Minard, an artist known for his work on Magic: The Gathering, is developing Carnholt. Meanwhile, Dragon’s Tear, developed by LilChill Games, draws inspiration from classic Japanese RPGs.
Pythia Games is also seeking additional partnerships with independent developers as it grows its publishing operations.
Aidan McGrath, founder and marketing director at Pythia Games, said the following:
After years of experience in agency work, everyone here at Pythia Games is delighted to be starting this new chapter as a publisher. The team is united by a shared passion for discovering and elevating new and innovative indie games, and for supporting small teams and solo developers alike.
We were blown away by the response to our first title, Hearth and Hamlet, and look forward to utilising our expertise to replicate that success for indie developers for years to come.
